A reasonably balanced documentary on the cold war

Made by Warner Brothers for YouTube. It does make it look like Oakland, Berkeley and the surrounds stopped the war and the draft all by ourselves--a bit too much credit there. And no Blue Meanies. I had the kids of a Blue Meany neighbor over a lot and they rolled around the floor and called one another Pigs a lot of the time. I remember feeding them dinner. They had a little sister who was tough. ''Yea, one of them said, "She eats snails, raw." I Remember having to look up atrocity in the dictionary." My links won't show so you might have to paste in into your browsers.

Carter had his arm twisted hard by a caucus of Seventeen Republican
Senators who put him in a double bind with regard to draft registration, the insultingly named ''Carter Doctrine''. And
Presidential Directive 58, which allowed a 1st strike, the MX Missile Racetrack scheme, which would have covered 400 square miles and used twice as much cement as the US produced in a year. They did love to make him look weak and accused him often of breaking campaign promises they would not let him finish. If we have a Democratic President, if
we don't have a Democratic Congress things will get much worse.
