These terms are closely and both are closely related to forgiveness. In human affairs, after some human rampage of war, genocide, ethnic cleansing, depravity, torture, terrorism, must come a time of letting go. Communities, nations, indivuals should be remembered and memorialized. When monuments, memorials, graves, defaced or erased, as with Bahai Sacred Sites in Iran, if humans are ever find outer peace, or inner. The time of leaving one's gift at the alter and of apology must come. I do not beleive that any atrocity, any slaughter of the innocents or of innocents, anywhere, should or even may be forgotten or successfully erased from the historical record except at our peril as peoples, regions, or as a world as a whole.
Every bloody footprint must be followed, and teach us to be human again.
